Housekeeper (Private Residence)

We are seeking a highly professional, detail-oriented, and trustworthy Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness and organisation of a private residence, in the picturesque town of Henley-on-Thames.

The ideal candidate will have experience in luxury or private household cleaning and will be comfortable working in a high-pressure environment with discretion and confidentiality.

As a key member of the household staff, the Housekeeper will contribute to creating a comfortable, welcoming, and pristine environment for the household.

Key Responsibilities

• General cleaning, ensuring that all areas of the residence are clean and well-maintained at all times.
• Laundering and ironing, ensuring that all garments are properly cared for according to their fabric type.
• Maintain tidy and organised spaces throughout the home, including rearranging rooms as requested and assisting with wardrobe organisation.
• Monitor and oversee replenishment of household supplies (cleaning products, toiletries, linen, etc.).
• Guest hosting support, assisting with preparing guest areas and providing support during high-profile visits or gatherings, ensuring everything is presented to the highest standard.
• Event support, providing cleaning and organising required support before, during, and after events or parties held at the residence.
• On occasion, assist with light meal preparation for the family or staff during events or gatherings.
• In certain instances, assist with light meal preparation, especially for the family or staff during events or gatherings.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience as a Housekeeper, ideally in a private household or with high-net-worth individuals.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
• An ability to maintain a professional and discrete demeanour.
• A high regard for security awareness, to ensure the privacy and security of the household.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask efficiently.
• Trustworthy and reliable, with a respectful approach to privacy and confidentiality.
• An ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with fine fabrics, delicate items, and high-value property is desirable.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasionally travel with the family if needed.
• A positive and proactive attitude with a hands-on approach to work.

Desired Qualifications

• A valid UK driving license (if required to drive the household vehicle)
• A certificate in professional cleaning or housekeeping is an advantage.
• First Aid and/or basic health and safety training is desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary from £40,000 to £45,000, based on experience.
• Opportunity to work in a prestigious household.
